Critical Acclaim:
94 points Wine Advocate:
The 2006 Barolo Bricco Rocche is a touch firmer than the Brunate. Flowers, spices and dark red fruit cover the palate with lovely density as this beautifully balanced, articulate Barolo opens up in the glass. Today the Bricco Rocche is quite graceful, but I would not be surprised to see it put on additional weight in bottle, as so often happens with Barolos from the village of Castiglione Falletto. There is plenty of vineyard expression in the glass, likely the result of a more measured use of French oak. (AG)

93 points James Suckling:
This is round and velvety, with plenty of dried fruits and cedar. Full and chewy. Needs to soften with time. I am really taken with the depth of fruit in this young Barolo.

An iron edge details the cherry, licorice and oak spice flavors in this smooth red. There's fine support from dense tannins, with a balanced finish and fine grip. (BS)

92 points Int'l Wine Cellar:
Good full, deep red-ruby. Serious aromas of currant, camphor, dried flowers and tobacco; a classic expression of Castiglione Falletto. Broad and sweet but with lovely vinosity framing the flavors of chocolatey currant, spices, camphor and rose petal. Closed today but already quite suave. Finishes with serious palate-saturating breadth and big, broad tannins. This is a strong set of cru bottlings. (ST)
