Description:
Ceretto offers a tour de force in the 2016 vintage with four excellent single-vineyard expressions from Bricco Rocche, Bussia, Brunate and Prapò. If you can't choose between those wines, you always have this excellent fallback. The classic 2016 Barolo offers dark intensity with great aromatic detailing. Fruit and some floral notes are followed by ferrous notes and a good amount of powdered licorice. The aromas are delicate and fragile; however, the wine deftly hides its power within the soft folds of its slender, mid-weight mouthfeel. This is a perfect go-to Barolo when you can't choose from all the excellent options in this benchmark 2016 vintage. This wine, like the others, hit the market in May 2020. (The Wine Advocate, July 2020)
Origin:
Roberta Ceretto and her family report that all the estate vineyards, since 2015, are farmed according to biodynamic and organic practices. This group of wines includes the second vintage Ceretto's newest addition, the Barolo Bussia, with fruit from a tiny parcel in Bussia Soprana measuring less than one hectare. The excellent vineyard holdings of the winery now include Bricco Rocche in Castiglione Falletto, Cannubi San Lorenzo in Barolo, Brunate in La Morra, Prapò in Serralunga d'Alba and Bussia in Monforte d'Alba.

Description: "The wine pours from the bottle with extra soft, rich foam that lasts long and clings to the sides of your glass. The bouquet is delicate and elegant, with stone fruit and lemon blossom, but it’s minus some of the more overt saccharine perfumes that you see in its more commercial peers. This wine is beautifully downplayed and subtle, with hints of white mineral and wild sage" Wine Advocate

Description: Brilliant ruby. Wonderful nose, wide and inviting, with notes of ripe wild raspberry and strawberry. Lots of ripe fruit on the palate, characterized by waves of fine tannins and a very long finish.
Vinification and ageing: traditional Barolo with long fermentation and maceration in oak fermenters (“tini”) at temperatures around 30°C; the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak casks for up to 30 months before being left to mature in bottle for about a year in special dark, cool cellars
Notes: fantastic vineyard which combines the potency of our lands with the elegance and harmony generated by the sandy percentage of the soil. Traditional vinification and ageing are the natural complement to the outstanding characteristics of the grapes.
Appearance: deep garnet red.
Bouquet: ethereal, featuring spicy, tobacco and brushwood notes; there are also important mineral notes.
Flavour: classic and nicely harmonious wine, tannic when young and with considerable ageing potential, making it an unmistakable “Nebbiolo of Serralunga”. It is best to decant and serve it at temperatures between 18-20°C. An important wine, it encapsulates all the history of our land and fully expresses its talents when served with rich dishes, such as roast red meats or game stew. It is also excellent with medium-mature and mature cheeses.

Description: Brilliant ruby with a subtle garnet profile. Very intense nose, with notes of tobacco, licorice and ripe wild raspberries. The palate is precise and direct, with notes of dark fruit and full, enveloping and persistent tannins. Earthy finish.
Vinification and ageing: traditional Barolo with long fermentation and maceration in oak fermenters (“tini”) at temperatures around 30°C; the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak casks for up to 30 months before being left to mature in bottle for about a year in special dark, cool cellars.
Notes: the excellent south-easterly/south-westerly exposure of the vineyard situated on the crest of the hill, in the Parussi sub-zone, guarantees the production of excellent quality grapes. The very calcareous soil conveys a remarkable structure with quite strong tannins.
Appearance: deep garnet red.
Bouquet: ethereal and enveloping with intense and persistent notes of sweet spices, sandalwood, tobacco and leather.
Flavour: great structure. Remarkable tannin which softens with time and make it a perfect wine also for ageing. Its very long finish is typical of Barolos from Castiglione Falletto. It is best to decant and serve it at temperatures between 18-20°C.
Parussi is the first Barolo made from grapes grown outside Serralunga d’Alba, in another fantastic area: Castiglione Falletto. The traditional vinification and ageing processes, which are the same as those used for its “Barolo brothers” from Serralunga d’Alba, highlight the well-known capacity of Nebbiolo grapes to deliver Barolos with different fascinating
characteristics reflecting the changes in the microclimate and soil the grapes were grown in. Perfect with the rich, traditional cuisine of the region, stewed meats and medium- long matured cheeses.

Description:
The most prominent element in the history of our estate, Vigna Rionda is one of the most sought-after and prestigious crus in the area. This prestige goes beyond the microclimate and soil: something happens on that hill and that something gives life to Vigna Rionda Riserva, a truly unique wine.
Vinification and ageing: traditional Barolo, with long fermentation and maceration in oak vats at a temperature of around 30°C; aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 42 months, followed by a further 24 months in the bottle.
Notes: the soil and microclimate of this hillside allow the production of exceptionally structured and complex wines. Traditional vinification enhances the qualities of this Cru, respecting the natural predisposition for long ageing, while emphasising the elegance and depth that only this vineyard can deliver.
Bouquet: reveals multiple broad and enveloping sensations, ranging from those of the early years, focused primarily on red fruits and flowers, to the more evolved sensations of brushwood, tobacco and spices that develop with age. This wine is a harmony of captivating nuances that are released and evolve slowly in the glass.
Palate: Vigna Rionda is a unique Barolo, impossible to describe in just a few lines and hard to compare with others, even those from the Serralunga area. A wine capable of complexity, longevity and structure, which come together with unparalleled elegance. A little patience is required for it to reach its full potential, which is why it stays in our cellars until its sixth year, the only wine in our range to do so, when it is released as a Riserva.
